An ever-larger display area is a dead end if off-axis content is progressively distorted in proportion to its degree of axis displacement.
The Holy Grail of display technology isn't what hardware you have...it's render code that can be set up to calculate widely-off-axis content so that it is presented with correct geometry when the user's display is configured in wrap-around form.

cool, But I can take..errr borrow the powerpoint projector from work and do pretty much the same...and I run 3 accounts at the same time...

Yep, given the low costs of projectors these days, if you want a big image they are deffinatley the way to go.
But I guess if you want an insaine resolution the "Eyefinity" is certainly interesting.
